Solar Powered LightNoodles?
What could be cooler than safe, usable, LED pool noodle swords? How about Solar Powered ones? Using inexpensive off the shelf LED keyfobs, I prototyped a simple 12V DC power cell using rechargable LiPO batteries and polycrystaline solar cells. Imagine playing your favorite characters in a saber dual, then when finished recharging your swords by simply leaving them in the sun for a few hours? I might even include a 12V DC trickle charger for those days when it's overcast and the darkness is especially active.
