I've been saying it for a while... 3d printed tires are a huge opportunity. Here's a story from China demonstrating applications for thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) in the field. I've done some preliminary work with molding tires from powdered crumb rubber. Perhaps the addtition of TPU to laser sintered crumb rubber can overcome some of the hurdles. https://3dprintingindustry.com/news/linglong-tire-working-chinas-first-3d-printed-tire-project-118260/
Researchers at ETH Zurich have created a silicone artificial heart using a 3D printer. According to the Swiss group, the silicone structure is “the first entirely soft artificial heart.” Fantastic example of what can be done using 3d printed medical grade silicone. New materials will push the envelope of what's possible within our lifetime.
